  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of fine sea salt
  • 1 egg large
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cups of whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly grated orange zest
  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoon) of active dry yeast


  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup of chopped pecans, toasted
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of Hennessey
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter


Here’s all you need to know about making the Perfect hennessy pecan cinnamon rolls recipe! And this foolproof tutorial will guide you through the recipe step by step.

First, in a saucepan, melt the butter. Then remove from heat then add the milk to warm.

Then in a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, yeast and salt. All that on low speed, then add the flour mixture to combine.  And beat in egg, then beat until dough comes together. 

And switch to a dough hook attachment then beat on medium speed until dough forms a ball. And if the dough is too sticky, add more flour one tablespoon at a time.

After that, on a floured surface, and with floured hands, knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 19 or 20 times; form into a ball. Then transfer to a lightly oiled bowl. And cover with a dish towel then let the dough double in volume at room temperature, about 2 to 3 hours.

Then in a medium skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter. And in a medium bowl, dark brown sugar, beat together melted butter, cinnamon, vanilla extract,  ginger and salt.

And punch the dough in the centre to deflate. Then turn the dough onto a floured work surface then roll it into a 9×13-inch rectangle. Then sprinkle chopped pecans evenly across the top.

After this step, tightly roll the dough, starting at the long end, into a jelly roll. And with the seam-side down, then cut the dough into 9 equal-sized pieces.

Then grease a 9-inch cast-iron skillet with softened butter. Then place cinnamon rolls into the cast-iron skillet, cut side up, touching each other. And cover with plastic wrap then a dish towel and let double in volume, about 44 or 45 minutes.

And preheat the oven to 375°F. And bake rolls until golden brown then expanded for about 19 to 25 minutes. Then remove from oven then cool.

Meanwhile, work on the sauce. Then combine brown sugar In a saucepan, 1/4 cup cold water and Hennessey, and cook to dissolve sugar, about 5 or 6 minutes. And whisk in the remaining butter, vanilla then powdered sugar until a sauce is formed.

Then pour glaze on top of cinnamon rolls, then sprinkle with pecans. And allow the glaze to set before serving, about 19 or 20 minutes.
